Her Raving Mind
A TRAGICOMEDY WITH THE ECHOES OF GREEK TRAGEDY, BRITISH DARK HUMOUR, AND THE PULSE OF ELECTRONIC MUSIC
A one-woman play about abuse, memory, rage, resilience and the possibility of revenge.
A woman enters a rave. As the music takes over, the boundaries between past and present, reality and memory, begin to dissolve. What emerges is a journey through abuse, psychological fragmentation and survival, echoing the mythic journey of the tragic heroine.
Blending contemporary storytelling with the emotional architecture of Greek tragedy, Her Raving Mind moves between British dark humour, raw vulnerability and moments of unsettling intensity. Electronic music, movement, light and voice become part of the dramaturgy, transforming the stage into an external landscape of the protagonist’s mind.
At its heart, the play asks: what happens when survival is no longer enough — and revenge begins to look like freedom?
THE PLAY
Her Raving Mind is a contemporary tragicomedy inspired by the enduring themes of Greek tragedy: violence, family, power, justice, revenge and transformation.
Rather than retelling an ancient myth, the play places a contemporary woman’s experience within a tragic framework, exploring how myth can illuminate experiences that remain painfully present today.
The work combines dramatic text with physical performance and electronic sound, creating a theatrical language in which the psychological becomes physical and the internal becomes visible.
