My Writing

When contemporary stories collide with the echoes of Greek tragedy,

British dark humour and electronic music.

My writing is rooted in the tension between the psychological and the theatrical. It explores the complexities of human experience through bold, psychologically driven stories that move between tragedy and dark humour.

I am interested in what happens when private experience becomes public performance ; when memory becomes mythology, when the body carries what language cannot express, and when contemporary lives collide with ancient structures of tragedy. I am drawn to characters confronting power, identity, trauma, resilience and transformation, often placing contemporary lives in dialogue with myth and the enduring questions of Greek tragedy.

My plays explore female identity, abuse, power, resilience, revenge, mental health and transformation. I draw on Greek tragedy not as historical reconstruction, but as a living dramaturgical language through which contemporary experiences can be examined.

I write for the stage with a strong sense of rhythm, fast pace, alive contemporary language, cinematic energy and theatricality, allowing text to interact with performance, sound and space. My work seeks to create stories that are emotionally visceral, provocative and sometimes unsettling and/or disturbing, while retaining humour, humanity and a sense of play.

The use of electronic music and physical movement breaks the emotional barrier of drama and opens opportunities for artistic and audience catharsis, emotional expression and controversial, often anorthodox connection with the story.
